Urine Protein Electrophoresis

This 24 hour urine sample was taken from a 15 year old female; What is the most likely diagnostic impression? What you see are proteins in large amount that one would find in the BLOOD; however, these serum proteins are in the urine, which is very abnormal and suggest either bleeding from trauma or infection of the urinary bladder or the kidney or a primary KIDNEY DISEASE. The final analysis was that the serum proteins in large quantity, 1319 mg/dl in a urine sample, is because of the patient's clinical diagnosis of "GLOMERULONEPHRITIS"; now the next thing is for the doctor to correlate with specific etiology, which may require a kidney biopsy (to evaluate for primary glomerular disease of the kidney).
